I was getting rather excited at the prospect of a magic bar opening in Bristol and it turns out it might not be happening after all!! :evil:

I found this website http://www.illusionsmagicbar.co.uk/ and then read the blog on myspace with the bad news that it might not be going ahead due to negotiations with the venue -

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that at some point it'll go ahead. It's such an amazing prospect.

Just wanted to let everyone know of my pain. I will see a magic show some day

I just read the blog thing and it says it will open, but they may need to find another venue.

Exciting stuff though, i don't live far from Bristol.

Mark Bennett is opening a new Magic Bar! The Cheltenham venue planned for last year fell through at the last minute but Mark is delighted with the new site he's found in Clifton, Bristol, and plans to open in September. The new bar will feature a baby grand piano, a small stage for stage/cabaret magic and, of course, a bar. So it is opening in Clifon? I hope it is, I thought that was what fell through!! I've messaged Mark via Myspace so I'll let you all know his response!

If it is I can go there after work seeing as though it's a 3 min drive!!

I had a text message from Mark a couple of days ago to state that the Bristol bar is definitely opening on the 6th September - so I'm assuming it's still going ahead!

I'm hoping to get down there at some point.

It will be extremely interesting to watch a live magician. I think then I'll fully appreciate all aspects of performance and presentation

A close friend of mine is working there full time, and there is going to be some good things going on in the bar not solely magic but good entertainment on.

Remember people it has to appeal to the general public before it appeals to magicians

We have a nice mini magic bar opposite the main bar where our performers do there sets. If anyone wants to come down and try out some new stuff or old stuff for that matter Pm me. Most Wednesdays we have beginners and guys getting back into it that come down and try out there stuff they've been working on and we give advice and help.
