Hi Stephen,

If you had to recommend only ONE Black Heart item which falls within the following criteria:

1) The item should have been available for at least 3 months (No "latest, greatest, Must-Haves)"

2) The item MUST have been reviewed here, on TalkMagic (you should provide a link to the relevant review)

3) You MUST own this item yourself, use it regularly, and explain why it is one of the gems of your collection

4) The item must cost no more than £70.00, and be readily-available to the UK

5) The item must be either a complete effect, book or DVD (no utilities, or magazine subs thanks)

6) Only ONE suggestion per member is allowed, so choose for me carefully!

....What would it be?

Thanks :D

Here is why!

Firstly as well as a great effect you have a nice pendent to wear daily that looks as good on a guy as it does on a girl. Secondly, i have peformed this 100's of times and people are either spooked, scream or just can't believe what has happened. Thirdly, it is simple but with such a strong storyline that it is ideal. This is great to perform by candlight or even in an old pub. Image telling the story about the legend of the bar you are in and then performing this effect. I never leave this little baby out of close-up shows.

The possibilities are endless.. Take a group of friends out to the woods or a old field. Tell them the story of the witch that meet a horrible fate in those very same woods. Get a torch and perform it by torchlight or moonlight. They will NEVER forget it my friend!

Damn it Stephen! THats on my list now! I usually go for books, but I think I may buy that in a few months or so, when the finances are boosted slightly.

Ooops my bad lo.
Well either way its a heck of a price to pay, either find a dealer who still have the old price (Penguin may have).
I just read the copy that my library had.

As for my suggestion, I'm saying "Dear Mr. Fantasy" by John Bannon, bearing in mind how it is oriented around cards, the effects involved can produce brilliant mentalism/mind reading feats with cards, some are incredibly powerful.

For what it's worth, I would go for the cold reading. It's an ability that once you've mastered, you can perform for anyone, anywhere, without set-up and without props. You're never alone with the ability to do a reading! No mentalist should leave home without it.

Nooooo... that's strictly against forum rules.

I was merely indicating that I was a bit shocked at the price at IM.

I've been having a clear-out lately (wife's new rules: if it's untidy, it will be thrown!), and I've found SO MANY things I've doubled-up on.

o yeah, silly forum rules (I know they're not silly)

I think you should take a stand against the inflated prices of the book and sell it at a stupidly low price in order to bring the market price down a notch or two.... I have paypal
