I normally find the old X-force is good enough for mentalism, but I also like the various forces that allow the spectator to cut through a handkerchief. The one in SW Mental Magic is good, but you do need an opaque cloth, especially in strong light. There's a better one in Tarbell 7 which I'm working on, but there's another involving a Charlier Pass which I think I prefer - and I can't remember where I read it! I though it was also in Tarbell, but I can't find it - can anyone help?

Its obvious, that a good pro, has always a back up story to go on if a force faill.

I was just sending this real story as an anecdote.

i recently went to the connect music festival in inverary and took (in addition to my usual assortment of t.t. cards etc) two different one way forcing decks. Now, in the satarday avo, i was sitting with my girlfriend quaffing copparberg cider when another in the group we were with (as he does alot i haveto say) asked me to do some magic.....well, i had a wee idea and ive got to tell you it was superb. In short he and his missus both opened the forcing decks, with me instructing them to shuffle under the table and take out "one random card....any card at all just dont let me see it, and put the cards back in their case....ohh and definately not to let each other see it, because i dont want u to think that one of you is more suggestable than the other and could be giving the game away.And if you just place it face down on the table in front of you.....thats great"......ithink you see where this is going and its very simple but by jove it worked splendidly.....i spread my deck, face up, and said "well you can see all these cards and you could have picked any one etc (this seemed to work as a convincer that theirs were kosher)..... i picked the two matching cards from my kosher deck (in a mysterious and soul searching way) and the miracle was complete.....now with my sort of tramp alky mystic persona, and far better patter than my abilities it worked swimmingly

im sure everyones thought of this before,but after seeing the one on devils picturebook with the forcingdeck this seemed obviious...and using two different forcing decks seems to work great (im thinking especially if it was a couple)

anyway.....just a wee anecdote for folks

oh and the beastie boys, primal scream and bjork were the best at connect

short explanation:
USE TWO DECKS
One svengali and one normal deck (both matching)
before starting, place on your knee (well balanced) the normal deck from witch you have taken away before hand, the forced card
1) Prediction:
take a paper and write a card prediction.
2) give the paper to someone to hold, and not to show now
3) take out the cards from svengalli from box, and rifle shoufle few times,until spectator is satisfied. and place deck back in box.
4) give the deck to the persone infront of you, asking him to under the table, to open the box, to place the box on the table, and to do few CUTS, until satisfied.
5) once satisfied, aske the persone to take the top card, and to place it with out looking at face down on the table.
6) Aske him, to still keep the deck under the table, and to pick up the box from table, and under the table, to repace all cards in the box.
7) ask him to give the box under the table.
when you get the box, just switch it for the one on your knee, and bring that one out and leave it full view on the table.
THEN COME THE SURPRISE IF THERE IS A MAGICIEN AT THE TABLE

Exactly at the same time that you get the deck under the table, STAND UP
AND GO ON STANDING UP INFRONT OF THE TABLE.

The rest i guess you know
Ask for him to turn over the face down card on the table, and then ask the other persone, to show your prediction.

ENDING POINT
Ask then some one, to open the pack lying on the table, and to do a search.
to see that they are ONLY 51 cards and that one is missing.

EXTRA ENDING POINT
do all this with OUT SLEEVES (Jacket ) and because you just have STAND UP
AND HAS GO ON STANDING UP INFRONT OF THE TABLE.

WHERE IS THE SVENGALLI DECK GON ???
NO POCKETS, NO FAKE POCKETS, NO SLEEVING, NO EXTERNAL HELP,
"NO NOTHING"
actually you end up totally clean
But i cant tell you where the deck when to (svengalli), because then
I will be acuse of exposure. It just disapear,s and THATS MAGIC !!!
