Jay Sankey's Snowstorm Question

Postby JAlexBrown » Aug 22nd, '07, 05:00

I'm not looking for exposure, I'm just wondering if this is coincidence or not. If you watch the demo video for Snowstorm then the lady picks the five of diamonds. Sankey does a few cuts of the deck and when he's drawing the snowglobe on the 2 of diamonds, you can clearly see the bottom card of the deck is the spec's chosen five of diamonds. Is this a coincidence, or is this part of the trick? I'm not trying to find exposure; I'm just curious if this is coincidence or not.

The selection isn't directly involved in the finish of the effect, so it doesn't matter where the card ends up (it is genuinely shuffled back into the deck). So, the 5 being on the bottom is entirely coincidental.

I just wondered, because you know in magic very little is really left as coincidence. They say everything in magic has its purpose, and nothing is a true coincidence, but I suppose, then, that this busts the theory.
