Online bloody poker

Postby bronz » Aug 31st, '07, 19:49

Anyone else got this vice? I've managed to lose 30 flipping quid over the last week through sheer STUPIDITY. Normally I'm quite solid, plodding along winning a bit, losing a bit, staying even then winning a big pot with a good hand or a freak but well planned bluff. Then I'll bluff massively with nothing against a player who clearly has a better hand and refuse to fold out of pride and lose a massive whack. Funny thing is this always comes out of the blue and goes as quickly as it appears and back to solid play I go.

Don't know what the point of this rant is really, just needed to get the frustration off my chest.

I'm 16...and I like to play poker...however the MAN forbids it, like he forbid skateboarding in public places in 1972...what a gimp!

I have been playing poker (online and live) for a couple of years and I am addicted. We usually have a friendly get together every fortnight with a prize pot for the winner and I'm doing very well...

Unfortunately, the same can't be said for my online poker skills.. I always go wild and risk big, so as a result I've been confined to the play money tables for now. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Anyway, just thought I'd get that off my chest...

A friend of my housemate's has a 1st degree in something clever like physics or maths and yet sits at home playing online poker - needless to say, he's pretty good!

I've made a little bit of money thanks to online poker, but not playing it - selling a "how to win at online poker" book on eBay! I can't remember where I got it and I don't know if it's any good but I'd be happy to email it gratuit to anyone interested.

I get into it for a while then leave it for a while. Actaully this post might push me back in to playing. I put $20 on one and I'm stilll playing with that $20 although I'm down to about $5 at the moment.

I do get those times when I refuse to fold knowing I have no chance of winning.

Well, I'm off to loose the final $5.

I made a few grand over the course of about a year and then got incredibly bored and haven't played in eight months.

I'm next to useless at card tricks but friends who know I have an interest in magic have said they wouldn't play cards with me, even if only for matchsticks. I'm not sure if I should be pleased or upset :? !

Some of the older blokes in my favourite backstreet boozer play a form of crib called Dom on a Saturday lunchtime. They've invited me to play but after looking up the rules online, I suspect their motive might be profit.
