Effect with holding fingers behind back

Postby kitaristi0 » Sep 3rd, '07, 10:04

I remember seeing an effect where you ask the spec to hold up some number of fingers behind his back and you are able to tell him how many. Then he does the same for you. I think Derren did this on one of his tv shows.

Does anyone know what the effect is or where I could find it?

Yup

Paul Brook's "The Gift"

Very good read! Worth every penny and more!

"Before the Curtain Rises" by Mark Strivings is, in my opinion, a little juicier than "The Gift," though the latter is indeed a good alternative.

Would this work along the same lines as being able to know in which hand the spectator is holding something?

I guess that you could...

but it ins't impromptu...it is a case of dual reality - takes pre-show work

The numbers held up isn't impromptu or the item in hand?

both, if you use this method

this is a manuscript detailing pre-show work and dual reality

but at no time are stooges used, just to be clear :)

A Google search against "Paul Brook" and "The Gift" produced this as the second hit:

I have the gift of the Google (which makes it difficult to find trousers that fit).

You're welcome.
