new to coin magic

Postby KingJeux. » Sep 4th, '07, 17:36

So I'd like to start getting into coin magic but I have some questions..

scotch and soda or gold and silver (also known as 11p trick to you UKians)??

I understand both S&S and G&S used gaff coins, are these different? or can the same effect be preformed with the gaffs?

And I'd like to learn the muscle pass, but I see this is Kris Nevlings version and Jay Noblezada's DVD as well.. anyone have an opinion on those?

With respect to the muscle pass; if you are a beginner I would advise you stay away from this particular move for a while. To be effective you need to have a good grasp of the classic palm (as it were) which is a good few months away from you at the moment.

Take care, Ian

http://www.magictricks.com/coins/goldsilver.htm not the same coin set or same effect so not interchangable.
http://www.magictricks.com/coins/hophafsh.htm this would be more usefull to you as an adition to your s&s, by the way they now do a mag version too.

gaffs and gimmicks can be great but if you're serious about getting into coins then there're few better places to start than Bobo.

I purchased Jay Noblezada's "In the Beginning There Were Coins" as I prefer to learn from watching a DVD. Got mine from Dude That's Cool Magic.

IMHO it is pretty basic compared to some of the instructional DVD's / Books available but it is good for a complete coin novice like myself.

You must start with BOBO Modern Coin Magic and Mark Wilson also has pretty nifty coin effects in his complete course in magic.

Start with some matrix tricks...... now where did I put the one I got at NUMS......hmmmm

I can't recomend starting with Bobo's enough. You will learn so much from that book and you will use it for the rest of your life as a magician. Just get it.
