Most of you may already know most if not all of what is in this post however with Christmas creeping up to us I feel a reminder and an update my be useful.

Internet security warnings.
It seems we have a new batch of gremlins on the internet. If you have been experiencing PC going slow, Programs freezing , Not shutting down , or slow on boot up ? it’s a good chance you may have some of these gremlins in your PC.

Don’t Panic.
Run a spy wear program Ad aware or Spybot search and destroy (Both Free). Then Clear ALL cookies from your browser.

Wireless Networks.
A new one out is a web page comes up saying “ Re Enter your user name and password for your router” It will say the name of your router IE Bt wireless type 1234 I.P 208.11.1.1 and will look like your setup page for your router. It could be genuine someone could have reset your router , however the chances are if your surfing or it comes up when windows starts close it and check to see if you can still surf the net if you can then it’s a fake.

Why is this done? A laptop can be used close by lets say in a car down your street, if they can get into your wireless network there is a good chance that can get into your P.C. Not only that if they log on to your network they can download anything they want Movies , music and all that goes on your bill if you have limited band width.

EMAIL
Check your emails all old ones delete, look for “ Failed Emails return to recipient” most of these are fake and have attachments on them Do Not Open them. They are not a virus but a tracking cookie and they can get information from your inbox. Delete them and EMPTY your deleted Items folder as well. How much is in your recycle bin? Empty that as well as often as you remember.

EBay and Pay pal.
I guess we all know about the fake sites I get at least 3 a week. However it’s clear that they are now making a remote site. I wont explain how it works to prevent anyone copying it, but when you look at the url it will read http://www.ebay.co.uk or .com however it will also have other letter signs after that such as (site=3&segment=FrequentVisitor&rotation=1&php) These can be a very long string and only at the very end of the url you can see it’s a remote site. My advice now would be to check your eBay account, when you get any email from them a copy of all email from eBay go into your online account under messages.

Pay Pal has now got a new look but still can be and will be “Cloned” Same as eBay go to your account and check never use links in emails. People can get your name and a lot of details about you off the internet especially if you have a online Blog and will target you because it has personal details about you does not mean it is real. Remember no matter what security you take if it’s on the internet it can be read by a 3rd party at some point every web site has it vulnerabilities at times.

Before we know it Christmas will be upon us, Junk email about a Plasma T.V at £200 free delivery bulk stock Bla Bla Bla. I guess you know the type? When buying off the net it’s more important then ever the check the site is genuine. All sites that sell you something should now have. Company name, A real address (Not a P.O Box number) And a Landline (Not a mobile number). Last year my online friends and I found 56 sites on the internet that had no details about who they where these where all in the U.K
Tread with care my friends you work hard for your money don’t let them steal it!!!!!!

I hope this helps
