Hello and an Introduction

Postby dChan » Sep 7th, '07, 20:41

Hi, just signed up here and wanted to say hello.

I've been practicing magic since I was 10(now I'm 15). Currently reading Royal Road to Card Magic(my second magic book pretty much, my first was Bob Longes World's Greatest Card Tricks). I've created some of my own tricks and love doing magic for friends and family.

Hi to everyone,

I appreciate your 'welcomes' to the forum! :D

Lately my magic is getting betterI even fooled a magician at a Magic shop, I was super happy that day). I hope my stay here wil help me achieve a higher level in magic in terms of my ability to present a trick and obviously as well as execute it.

I pretty much use zero gimmicks except for an ID. Does anyone have any tips on other tricks I could do with an ID? I have stopped using it because it is a one trick thing so it kind of bores me. The instructions only give me one way of using it and no suggestions of anything else so some suggestions would be nice.

I can do way more amazing things with a straight deck like the card through the box effect so it makes me wonder what else can I do with an ID.

Thanks, dChan

D'Chan..I'm guessing that by the way you write, you're an american or canadian?

there's a fair few other magicians from that-a-way on here, you should say where you're from and maybe they know of a few other magic-places?

could well be wrong where you're from..but, hey mind-reading isnt 100% is it...

aloha sir!

Nowadays I have started using the ID as a tool to portray me being an expect in suggestion...Brown-esque kinda thing. But that is only because it fits my style.

Others, use the ID as an out.

Just play with it...it always kills in my days ;)

And, welcome to the forums.

And to quote a phrase, that if you see in an office, you know it belongs to a boring sod with no sense of humour:

"You don't have to be mad to be here, but it helps"

Welcome...
well I'm not from UK either... Germany,
anyways.. give u a piece of advice (u ain't gotta take it) but it's not important to fool magicians (even though it feels good) it's important to fool or entertain laymen, cuz magicians can figure out how u do it, layman don't

so long
