On suggestion

Hello guys, absolutely love having you all as a fantastic resource at TalkMagic... saves me a fair bit of money ;)

I was wondering what would be the best way to go about learning suggestion, or conversational hypnosis, purely to enhance the 'magic' of one's effects?

On my shelf sitting I have the following titles:

Monsters and Magical Sticks: There's No Such Thing As Hypnosis - Steven Heller
The Structure of Magic Vol. 1 - Bandler + Grinder
The Hypnotic Patterns of Milton Erickson Vol. 1 - Bandler + Grinder

And I'm sure I have Trance-formations as well as Frogs Into Princes (both by Bandler and Grinder) floating around my room somewhere.

In all honesty, I found some of these books extremely difficult to make any sense out of (I'm looking at you, The Structure of Magic, and Hpynotic Patterns... though granted, I tried reading these when I had merely turned 17, and had little to no interest in magic).

So, to any experts on the subject, should I just revisit these few books? Or would it be a better idea to purchase Jermay's Building Blocks, as my understanding is that the information on suggestion contained within is greatly directed at creating magical effects (Burst Bubble Suggestion, etc).

Thank you all very much for your time :)

"Building Blocks" By Luke Jermay covers the basics of suggestion. The burst bubble suggestion is just one of the many that Building Blocks has. He teaches the structure and some theory behind the foundations. If your interested in the style, the book is necessary reading imo.

"Sleight of Mind" by Harling and Nyrup is a more general psychological illusions book, but it covers suggestion as well. SOM is more towards the direction of Derren Brown's style. (or at least the illusion of his style).

If you ever decide to put "Frogs into Princes" in the giving thread, I claim it before hand*! I can't find it for less than 45 bucks at the moment.

*I'm pretty sure the mods can allow it since it's not really a magic book.

Meh, I'm dreaming...

Currently Reading "House of Mystery" (Abbott, Teller), Tarbell, Everything I can on busking
