Hello to everybody :o)

Hello all!
I'm Lindsey and I'm very new to magic, but incredibly keen.
I started with the Royal Road to Card Magic but found that there was just not enough pictures to accompany the very precise and detailed instructions. So I've put it on the shelf for the time being and am currently being thrilled by Bobo's book of Coin Magic. Am also being delighted to the core by Milbourne Christopher's Illustrated and Pictorial History of Magic books.
After it being recommended to me I bought Wilson's Complete Magic Course but I feel that I really want to master one skill and then use it to branch out.
One of my aims is to eventually enable more live magic performance. The performers I've met in Davenports magic shop have all said that there are just not enough venues that fit. So one day I'd love to start something that would help change that a little. (If I ever inherit a million or two I might rebuild Egypt' Hall)
Have just found out all about the Blackpool Convention, which is very exciting!
When I was small I wanted to be a ventriloquist, until I visited a shop full of dummies and got terrified by the whole scene. Then I aspired to be like Paul Daniels, until my brothers stole my magic kit.
Recently I've fallen in love with magic all anew because I have been lazily watching children's television and stumbled across Max Somerset doing that show. I found clips of him doing other performances of magic and am just smitten with his style.
I'm looking forward to hearing about all you other magicians and I would very much welcome any advice you may have for me.
I think that's it, hope I've said all I'm supposed to...
Hello and thankyou :D

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Hi and welcome to TM. I know what you mean with RRTCM, but it's definitely worth a read if you pick it up again. It is a great way to develop your card skills before moving on to the "bigger" books like card college. As for Bobo, I've just bought it myself and find it brilliant. The best of luck with your magic and I look forward to seeing you on the boards!!

James, 19, Lifelong student of magic and will carry on learning for the rest of my days if I'm a very lucky boy.
