Twisted Palm

I was recently playing around with suggestion with some people in my (boring) history class. I turned my arm around 360 degrees (I don't use a method, just a freakish double joint) and pulled my shoulder out of its socket (again, no method). I did a suggestion based pulse stop, but I couldn't do the complete For Andruzzi. No one- even after I guaranteed their safety- wanted to have their pulse stop.
They asked me to do different effects with things they handed me. I folded up a piece of paper they gave me and handed it to one of them. A quick pulse suggestion and a coin appeared inside the folded paper. A bit of memory editing, and the guy now swears he felt the paper get thicker and stiffer in his hand. (That's one for the Innuendo thread, isn't it... )

The most enthusiastic guy in the group wanted to witness something bizarre.

I wiped by forehead, took a deep breath, and went for Twisted Palm.
I got one of them to see the lines on his palm getting deeper, but when I tried to make them move, he saw them go back to normal. s***.
The next guy just stared at his palm. He saw the lines move a bit, and he really looked like he was in a trance, but because of the previous reaction to my hand wave, he saw the lines return to normal instead of moving. Double s***.
I tried something different with the last person and, on the spot, came up with a good simile/metaphor to get the lines moving without waving my hands.

"Like a string floating on water..."

It worked.

If anyone works this type of stuff often, I'd like your thoughts on the phrase.
Thanks.
