Psychological Subtleties, if I'm not mistaken, is a book, (soon to be a series of books) written by the mentalist Steve Shaw (Banachek). In them , he teaches ways to make mentalism effects more realistic and powerful. i own the second volme only, but from that and what I've read about the first book, I'd say it teaches how to avoid seeming like a 19th century mediumistic con artist. Instead, you get to be a 21st century pretentious psychologist. Just kidding (sorta). PS has many psychological forces and convincers. The old witch doctor is one that Luke Jermay cites in several of his books. I read that he teaches some of Dunnunger's methods in it as well.
The reason why it's so sought after (coincientally) is that it's been out of print for a year and a half or so. Ellusionist stocked it (as well as Absolute Magic) for a while, so I would guess that many of the copies going up on ebay were originally purchased from Ellusionist.
I hope that answered your question.
