What do think of this Scottish spiritualist? for those of you who don't know him just check him out on wikipedia. Personally I think this guy was awesome for his time, some of his levitations beats the Mindfreak!(a.k.a. Criss) but I suppose I should mention that his coolest levitation was only witnessed by three people. Anyhow, ???????

He's my personal hero and was the inspiration that got me into the whole "mental" thing that now occupies my every waking moment. In my opinion he and others from the Spiritualist movement were inadvertently responsible for shaping 20th and 21st Century magic & mentalism - certainly far more of an inspiration than the old school magicians from the music hall and variety school of performing.
Watching Home performing in a Victorian parlour would have been instantly recognisable to us as being from the same school as Derren Brown, David Blaine et al.
If you really want to know all about D. D. Home, I heartily recommend "The First Psychic" by Peter Lamont (availalbe from Amazon etc). A cracking read - and my favourite book. If I ever get disheartened with this magical path that I now tread, a quick read of the First Psychic soon has me all fired up again!
