I take it these will give me the rough theories to create my own routine rather than telling me how its done ?

Effects like the one you describe, are generally extremely expensive (forks bending in spectators hands). PK Silverware (Banachek) and Liquid Metal (Morgan Strebler) are great for learning about metal bending.

Mark, the effect is that the specs BELIEVE that he forks are bending, even thought they're not. I'd reckon that the effect Chris is talking about uses the same gimmick in a clever way, though.

Chris, think of what you could do with a little dual-reality and a third shape memory alloy fork. Either that or practice hypno. Up to you ;)

In the end, I don' think you're pulling this one off like Derren did without a couple years of hypnosis training or a $700 fork. I'm sure you could work out a less expensive alternative, though

Ciao,
Rob

I think it is a base of suggestion. It is certainly possible. I have made people see their hands swirl, be unable to pick up a pen, e.t.c, e.t.c

Thanks Rob, I totally missed that. I immediately started thinking about the $700 Dollar Fork you mentioned. Plus, I also know that there is a coiled spring, made of that same material, which plays very well.

My apologies to Chris...I was not trying to get you off track.
