Hey guys, dunno if there is alrdy a thread like these...but
ever had the feeling that you wanted to learn everything (new) as fast as possible but in the end you end up doing this and that but have not mastered anything at all?

well i just got back from a schooltrip from london (bought some loops yeah!)
and right now after serveral hours of praticing I was trying to remember stuffs ive been doing a year ago and i can recall nearly nothing. I must have been learned dozens of tricks by now but i cant remember them at all...tricks i loved to do and so on...
any suggestions?
well at least i remember all the sleights i learned so far which i think is more important but still...

Note pads, keep note pads of everything. Notes on the tricks you have learned. The best bits of the books you have read, the times of the best effects on dvd's you own. Write down any ideas or sleights you have created.

Make sure you make the notes detailed enough so you can understand them 6 months later. Theres nothing worse than leaving your self a note you dont understand later on!

When you read them back later somethings wont be relevent anymore but you'll find some gold in there too :P

I've complained about people doing this for a very long time, cultivating the "Jack of all trades" moniker but being a master of none. Though I have been involved with magic many long years the truth of the matter is I've only worked on two fronts; the world of grand illusion and that of the Mentalist/Psychic Entertainer. Granted, there's always been a strong tinge of the bizarre encompassing me but that's just who I am in life :? The bottom line is I chose specialties and stuck with them and from within them I found key areas to study and "specialize in" as well. I think that's what allows us to each be novel in his/her own way though we work within related fields.
