Someone once said that there are no magicians. Sure the guy on stage looks like a magician, but remember he is just an actor playing the part of a magician. That is what illusion is. When you perform a magical feat, it is in that moment of fantasy you ARE the magician.

Or it could be the time when you see a beautiful woman who seems interested in you, and you reply with..."Ooh look, it's a new book on coin magic. outta my way missy."

I think another thing that makes someone a real magician is when they understand and respect the magician's code.
When I see kids exposing tricks, they have no idea what it means to be a magician, and no respect for the art.

Some time ago there was an add in some of the major magic trade magazines about a ring one could buy that would signify that you are a magician. Now there is a code? When will it end? When will it end???

I read or heard somewhere a story about a magician meeting his idol.
Young Magician:"You are my idol. You inspired me to become a magician, I've learned thousands of tricks. I hope to be as big as you someday."

Famous Magician: "Thousands eh? That's good, I only know six tricks and that's what I use in my show. The secret is doing them well."
