Want a magician for a film

Postby greedoniz » Oct 17th, '07, 20:02

Hello everybody

I was all set to help a mate out on a short film he is making as part of his course at the London film school however prior commitments have meant I probably wont be able to make it.
So pretty much he is looking for a magician to be available for 2 daylight hour shoots on Sat and sun 3rd - 4th November in London.
There will be two effects expected to be done, an appearing cane and a IT levitation so nothing at all taxing (this will be provided).
Also the costume will be provided too.

Unfortunately there is no money on offer but a copy of the final cut of the film will be yours to keep.

If you are interested please feel free to PM me and I can pass you on to the Director.

Taxing it certainly wont be but is a great opportunity for a budding magician to get a nice bit of footage for a showreel or just for the experience.

If the worst comes to the worst then I can always pop in and set it all up for an actor but I would rather a magician handle it as they understand the props a hell of a lot more.

Plus you get to levitate a muffin.

Hello Greedoniz,

Golly, what a truly wonderful and exciting opportunity and oh my gosh what fun. I'd do it in a heartbeat if I was there. I so wish that I had a little more time to make plans. I've been wanting to do a British tour anyways soon.

Just for fun, I'll check flights and such. A girl can at least dream. Now, if there happens to be another film in the new year, hey, I know a girl who would so love to try for the part.

Please tell your friend to break a leg (that's American slang for good luck). Golly I'd love to help him if there were a way. I just love acting, and, well, as for magic, you all know my love of that!!!

Love,

Amanda Angeli

I believe break a leg is good luck in all nationalities. Its more of superstition than slang.

And I do second that good luck.

It is a day shoot only so should be over by 6pm each day I would think.

It would be a matter of discussing your needs with the director and seeing if a plan can come together

again anyone Pm me if your interested.....do you really want an 'actor' doing magic on screen?

there is no speaking. B&W silent (think Nosferatu although that was cepia)

and you have two hopes of it being in the cinema and Bob is dead.

Still you get dvd you can show to your grandkids and tell them lies about how successful it was. that was my plan
