there are a few magic clubs all around the Central Belt of Scotland most are reachable from edinburgh no problem... even Glasgow is only 45 mins away

Another thing, are there any magic shops in or around the city? Plus, what are you doing there, what sort of magic do you like etc etc.

I am yet to find a magic shop in edinburgh, I very much doubt one exists :( I'm a mentalist but I don't go round acting all mysterious, I don't wear suits and I'm not growing a goatee!!

The nearest magic shop with a good selection is Tam Shepherd's in Glasgow.

There used to be a joke shop/magic shop in Edinburgh called Score, this has been replaced by a similar shop called Ah Ha Ha, which I have been informed has a small selection of tricks. Can't remember the name of the street, but it's on the same street as the Liquid Rooms, not far from the Royal Mile. Aside from that, there's a shop in Kirkcaldy, just over the Forth Bridge in Fife called Chicken Shop (down near where the Odeon used to be) which again is a joke, fancy dress shop. The guy who owns it, Dennis Alexander, is a magician, but whether he sells magic in the shop, I don't really know.

Sheperd's in Glasgow is probably your best bet though.

Hope that helps!

Isn't that the same as a comdian saying 'I don't want anyone to tell these jokes to their friends!'?

Yes, I've had a chance to have a look at Jerry's site. He doeasn't appear to be having much fun, does he? Mind you, is it all part of the act?

One of the other things I was going to do next year was learn how to ride a horse. I think it's just so I can wear a long coat with a split up the back, (vestibule scene in the first Matrix movie springs to mind.)

Cheers for the posts, the move up is almost here and I'm looking forward to it even more now!
