I have just found the ultimate forks!

They are like butter.

12 for £2.

In fact they may be too soft for advanced benders but for apprentice fork folks like myself they are excellent.

They are in a local cheap shop, one of these places that has a temporary lease and sells all manner of items from the far east.

EDIT:Sorry make that 12 for £1. Typo.

Good news, can you find out where the shop gets 'em from or where else they might be available. I found some wonderful ones in my local Chinese buffet restaurant t'other day and was going to ask them where they bought their forks from but was a bit embarrassed to after I'd absent-mindedly corkscrewed a couple.

Hi Bronz.

I've had a nosey around. They are imported by a company called Grover Imports. This is their website on the 'tableware' section. The forks are on the bottom of the list and I see that they are 45p per dozen if you buy in bulk.

Mind you, the picture is a bit blurry though I'm fairly certain they are the same ones. If you like I can send you a packet. :)

MORE EDIT: Yeah these are the same ones. Just checked the product code GR58. They are very soft, mind. As i say I'm quite happy to send you a packet to see if you like them.

Bronz - If you wouldn't mind posting a fork to me to comparrison then please PM me and I'll let you have my address?

If they're OK then I'll order a carton to split with other TM readers.

I'll be happy to help by sending forks to sample if anyone would like one.

Feel free to PM me if you like. I hope they're ok, I'm quite new to bending.

Mark.

FORKS

Postby dat8962 » Nov 18th, '07, 20:09

Hi Marvo

would you mind sending a fork to Dave Taylor (me  )

If you wish, I'll happily send you a fork that I normally use so that you can compare? Just let me have your address. Tony Hyams also uses the same forks as I do which are the old WIlkinson ones.

Regards

That's no problem FRK. PM me if you want one to sample first.

I wouldn't want anyone to buy these in such a large amount without trying them.

If anyone else would like one, feel free to PM me.

:D

I've got about 150 packets of Wilkinson forks left at the moment and I'm hanging onto those. I didn;t half get some strange looks buying them though
