Never say "I want you to do this" or "I want you to do that" Or "What I want you to do is"
It is one of my pet peeves. The magic is not about what YOU want-it is about what the spectators want. The expression does nothing to remove the subconcious resentment towards magicians that all laymen have. This "defensive resentment" may not show itself because everyone is having a good time and it manifests itself on a subconcious level. You will take away the sting to a tiny degree if you use different phraseology.
You will get even better reaction if you do this. And you will get the reaction for the rest of your life. I am glad I told you this while you are young.
