Jon Hiseman... awesome... watch it ALL...

http://www.drummerworld.com/Videos/jonh ... msolo.html

I've heard this live, when he played with Colloseum. I had shivers back then, and this gave me the shivers again too.

Especially, check out near the end... he's double bassing, gently increasing pace, whilst simultaneously doing a roll, whihc is DECREASING in pace.

Absolute magic.

Great drummer, though I have to say some of the best drumming (and indeed singing) I have ever heard is on the album SOUNDS OF '66 By Sammy Davis Jnr & The Buddy Rich Orchestra.

Stunning... :o

There use to be a joke , whats the diffirence between Buddy Rich and god? God dont think he is Buddy Rich.

I quite like Nico form Iron maidens drumming style. And the Mexican fella from social Distortion. The Dream thearter fella who's name escapes me. Dont forget Mark Ramone and Jerry "Needels" Nolan of the new york dolls. Not only great drumers buf they defined punk drumming.

Ha ha... "please don't fall asleep..." - looks like half of those guys already are!

That's some good drumming. Also check out the videos on Marco Minnemann's website. Whatever you can do, oldies...

I have a great respect for drummers, its the one instrument I cant imagine EVER being able to play myself. I think it requires so much raw tallent, rythem and beat are somthing you just have, you cant really learn it.

However, No matter how good a drummer all those other guys are, this guy just puts them to shame, this is incredible.

Total testiment to the idea that musical tallent is somthing totaly natural.

I agree with you SirRawlins. My cousin and my neighbour both play the drums. Havn't heard my cousin for ages but my neighbour is brilliant. He's only 11 and he's blind, but hearing him play is amazing.

Heres another one for you, Joey Jordison from Slipknot is probably the best if not one of the best metal drummers out there today, here's his drum solo from the disasterpieces dvd where he drums on a moving platform upside down :)

John Wright from Nomeansno.

That's all I'm saying.

Unless someone starts on about bass players.

Then I'll have to mention Rob Wright from Nomeansno.

:)

pah! call that drumming

Just think back to all those techno bands of the eigties. Those guys were amazing. Just think not only did they have to know when to turn the drum machine on, but also when to turn it off again. All whilst looking utterly board.
