Lancashire, Darwen, UK, (15:AH) Was that right?

Anyways, hiya everyone :D

It's great to have found a decent magic forum for once, and it's a pleasure to be here.

I'm 'sort of' new to magic (card magic, might I add :D), I've been doing it for about 3 or 4 months now which makes me a hobbyist, I hope :)

But this seems like a rather pleasant place to be, so I'll hopefully stick around and become a nice active member :D

Though I do have one question:
I take a bit of extra interest in flourishes; I was wondering if it's 'against the rules' to inquire for tutorials on flourishes or even what some of them are called :P

Just curious, but thanks a lot :)

Ooooh Darwen - just down the road from me

Hi and welcome to TM by the way  .

(That "Lancashire, Darwen, UK, (15:AH)" bit needs to go in your profile by the way  ).

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

I suppose it's okay there - most of us (I dunno why) prefer it in our profile so it appears just under our name on the left  .

It is certainly not against the rules to find out the names of effects or flourishes, of course I don't know the names I just kind of do the bloody things. As for how flourishes are done? I don't know if it is or isn't against the rules. However I think teaching them in this medium is going to be downright difficult at best.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys :D

I may as well ask it here other than anywhere else :P

There is one particular flourish that I saw Derren Brown perform in the casino scene (it was what originally got me into card tricks :P) but, irnoically, I've never been able to figure out the name of it or anything, so I don't actually know where I can learn it O.o

There's a video on YouTube for it (Clicky) There's two actually :P One at 2:38 (after the one-handed cut) and another at 2:41 ish.

I thought I'd ask here because you guys probably know a billion times more than me about magic and stuff :)

I do also apologise for this ungrateful approach I appear to be taking too  (But I really want to know how to do those flourishes :P )

Again, thanks a bundle for the warm welcome :)
