Notes from a classic rock fan:

The song and music behind it was much of the same carbon copy music that came out in the '80s. Nothing of worthy note, but certainly would find its own niche of fans.

The style was "hair band/pretty boy," which defined much of the late '80s style. Again, carbon copy without the make-up. Unlike what is being discussed prior to this post, I didn't find it to be a take off on KISS, rather a take off on Ratt, Motley Crue and others of their ilk.

In the vid, I saw a Michael Jackson "Moon Walk" (done very poorly), a Jeff McBride mask rip-off (done semi-okay), a great deal of David Lee Roth stage acrobatics (done fairly well), plenty of mic stand flourishes (done very well, really) but still carbon copy of what was already being done by many lead singers of the day and a magic act melded into the stage show which is a direct rip-off of Alice Cooper who had already spear headed the idea of incorporating magic into a rock'n'roll stage act (and Cooper, the original, was much better at it than Angel).

I can't remember the exact quote, but it's something along the lines of, "It's better to be a poor original than a good copy."

Nevertheless, nobody knows who the hell "Michael Jay" is and everyone seems to know who "Criss Angel" is...And that is a telling remark.

And, if anyone wishes to call my comments above "jealousy," then I must say, with all honesty, that I am jealous of one thing and one thing only where Criss Angel is concerned...He is my age and I'm terribly jealous of his hair. Not how he wears it, but the fact that he has it. I have a huge bald spot on the back of my head in the shape of a comma and not at the crown, but rather on the side - it looks terribly stupid. So, yes, I am jealous of Criss's hair.

Mike.

LOL!

Correction : LOL is not a word.

It was like a cross between of poison, Kiss and all the other bands of that ilk circa 1987

Correction: Depends which dictionary you go by. I am pretty sure Websters added w00t this is jsut an example of how everchanging words are and how they become real.

Chris Angel is great. He does great tricks.

The Queens Oxford English if you dont mind. And then you go on to say that in the DB thread I make stupid posts and you put Angel is great. Dini wins the round.
Sure you use that but that means nothing to me. 1. thats a diferent thread 2.I didnt say stupid I said Useless theres a difference, When you say somethign generazlizing peopel you should be ready for flak for it. 3 This thread is about how cool this trick was not on how to fgiure out how he did it. 4. Again you bend over and kis you own ***. Who said this was anythign about winnign anyways...

As a general note here, can we all make sure we use a spell checker? If the response is important then it needs to be presented so others can read it easily.

Sadly a spell checker is something we can't add to this version of phpBB - I usually copy and paste into/out of my e-mail program which has spell checking features so I eliminate most of the typos and errors. Only the really stupid ones slip through  !

Some people obviously do a lot more text messaging than conversing with other human beings (or reading!). I dread to think what their presentation is like.

How about instead of a spellchecking function, you slow down a bit?
