Been into magic for about a year, getting more hooked now though and learning more impromptu tricks rather than just all gimmicks.

Just ordered Modern coin magic and Royal road to card magic as late Christmas presents :D

Hi and welcome to TM  .

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

Welcome to the forum. You have picked a couple of great books to learn from. Look at the post on both books to see what everyone thinks of them and I think you will enjoy the comments.

Heya Golden,

Don't worry too much about having too many gimmicks, there is a fine balance between gimmicks and sleights.

Sometimes, gimmicks allow the creation of effects beyond what is possible through pure sleight of hand, hence the value of them. Of course, performing magic ONLY using gimmicks will most probably weigh you down so much you either don't have material to last very long or you'll have problems with pocket space etc.

Welcome to TM! The books you have ordered are great from what I've heard, even though I don't own them. Have a great time here.
