Scorpion

Postby Johnny Wizz » Jan 2nd, '08, 13:09

I know that this beastie is covered in various other threads but I just wanted to pass on my experience of using it.

I have had my Scorpion for a couple of months now but performed with it for the first time yesterday to a family party. My wife had never seen it before, I have kept it totally under wraps.

It was an absolute show stopper. All of the female spectators including my wife screamed when it looked as though I was going to bang the wrong cup at the end and it got me the biggest applause of the night. This was my first Outlaw purchase and everything about it lives up to the high praise they and their products get.

One spectator even commented on how nice the box was. If anyone out there is trying to make up their minds about this I highly recommend it as a very good value, very simple to use Russian Roulette effect. The simplicity of the method gives ample scope for the presentation because it is (almost) foolproof.

I am so glad I gave it the thought and preparation it deserves before putting it out there, it was worth the wait.

It certainly is and you can be quite versatile with the presentation.
I like the look of it far better than similar routines as the prop does look authentic and somewhat unusual. It has that 'human interest' factor.
I have performed this close-up, on stage and even impromptu and it gets a good response. I'm very happy with it.

I had a lot of fun with it before xmas

I performed it, ladada, got great responses, and one guy said that it was amazing how you can read the signals, and asked if could teach him

I said to him to just go with whatever feels right - it is your subconscious mind that allows you to do it

Then I got him to perform the effect

Everybody was in the know, but him, that the scorpion wasn't under any of the cups

He proceeded to s*** his pants every time he slammed his hand down on an empty cup

when he had eliminated the last one, i lifted the last cup, simulateously dropping the scorpion, making it look as though it was under there the whole time

he was gobsmacked

Ha ha! Nice one. Sometimes, as a comedy aside and after I have done it, I say to the spec "Ok! Now your go!". Gets a laugh and their face is a picture!
