help on card production

Postby mister magic » Jan 7th, '08, 01:29

I am struggling with the card production act.
I use Bicycle poker cards, but I have short thumbs, so I have trouble to push a card of the cards in my palm (I am starting with five cards).
Is there a special deck of cards for this manipulation? , Or do I need a different technique?
The Bicycle cards feel a bit stiff, and if I can reach the cards in my palm there is not enough room to free the card to produce.

You need Jeff McBrides Card Manipulation DVDs!

Bikes are fine for this sort of thing and the DVDs are excellent to learn from.

You can buy special cards for manipulation but they're expensive and uneccessary if you get your technique right.

Good luck

In Jeff's DVD's he goes into great depth about how you prepare cards for manipulation. In essence he takes a nice new rigid deck of cards and within minutes he has them so bendy that they have to be put into a card press or vice to get them flat enough to pass for cards.

It's a good DVD, but I would skip the part about "dressing like a magician" - unless you enjoy the prospect of dying laughing. Sorry Jeff, I'm sure that you have good fashion tips ... I just don't think anyone would dare to follow them!
