Hi,

Welcome to TM, Not sure if recommendations are what you're after but when it comes to starting out I can recommend the Mark Wilsons Complete Course book, I know this has been said many times many ways on this forum but it is worth getting for the money and gives a nice overview of many aspects of magic. I'm still wading through it and have had it a long while, I get the feeling I'll keep dipping back in here and there for a long while.

There are other books like JB Bobo's Modern Coin Magic for coin work (rather obviously) and specifically card the Royal Road to Card Magic (Hugard and Braue).

Cheers.

lmw.

Yeah, if you find the Royal Road hard to follow, theres the DVD version by RP. Wilson which is about £55 and 5 discs long! 13 steps to mentalism is a good buy if your into that kind of thing as well!

"I want to do magic...but I don't want to be referred to as a magician." - A layman chatting to me about magic.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
