Pockets

Postby Georgias Dad » Jan 11th, '08, 22:30

when I do my cup and ball trick with my jacket on I can't get my finishing juggling balls out of my pocket without getting my hand court up. If I wear my coat it's fine (larger pockets)

Has anyone got any tips on this?

I nearly always wear a jacket but despite this I always use my trouser pockets for the loads - never the jacket.

May be worth giving it a try and despite the pockets being smaller and sometimes tighter, I find it's the reach that is the most important factor. I've always found the jacket pockets to be too high and more towards the side which meand that my arm movement is more un-natural to reach into the jacket.

I've seen lots of people use their jackets so it's more than likely that it's down to individual choice.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

You could try pulling out the pocket & tying a knot in it or putting a safety pin through then putting the pocket back in. You should now have a 'smaller' pocket where a ball, lemon etc. can still sit but at the extremity of the pocket rather than deep down.

I never have any problem with the cups and balls routine along as i where a jacket with loose pockets so that i can easily access them. If i was you i would just wear the jacket when performing this trick.

Yeah same as above really, just choose the outfit according to the performance. I've really knuckled down now and i have all my props/gimmcks in the correct place (also an appropriate place) way before hand. If not, just keep on working on that smooth movement..start without your juggling balls and try and understand HOW your hand would come out without them..then try adapt!
