Yo MaskedMagician Checking In....

Postby TheMaskedMagician » Jan 22nd, '08, 21:33

Heya folks, I'm TheMaskedMagician but you can call me Mark.

I first got into magic in about 2004 when my mate showed me a simple card trick. I started doing tricks and me and a mate started doing magic shows which were quite good. He moved away and I hardly did magic for a few years. In 2006 I started up again for a few weeks, this time buying up some Marvins Magic goods on ebay. It was only for a bit though as I stopped again.

Now though, I've decided I'm gonna give magic tricks a good go and I'm gonna try committing myself to them.

Currently I have a lot of Marvins Magic tricks, The Raven, some TT lineups and Rocco's D'lites.

Well, that's all I can think of about me. Look forward to posting more on the board!

Mark,

Welcome Mark

Marvins are a good starting point and have enticed many a hobbyist so I'm sure that you'll find lots to interest you here.

Ditch the Raven but keep the TT

Cheers guys...

The raven does seem quite hard, I'd decided to buy it as I'd watched Max Magic where he dresses up and "manipulates the matrix" with a coin in a spectators hand.

The D'lites I'm having fun with so far...I practiced on myself in the mirror with the lightswitch dimmed earlier and I have to say, for £7.99 I'm impressed.

I'm looking at getting into Street Magic like close up stuff, mainly aimed at adults, not the sort of kids tricks.

Hi and welcome to TM

Have you had a look through Mark Wilson's Complete Course? A very good book with a little bit of everything in it.

Welcome to TM and so far you got good advice from two members. Get Mark Wilsons Complete Course because it contains more magic than you will use in a lifetime and look for Alexander De Covas video on the TT. Some knockout ideas on its use and handlings. Good luck.
Cheers
