Books in the magic library.

Postby Adrian Morgan » Feb 1st, '08, 03:54

My latest order arrived today and I now have a grand total of THREE magic books in my collection. (No, not three hundred. Just ... three.)

* The first was Peter Eldin's The Mysterious Book of Magic, originally published as The Pocket Book of Magic.
* The second was Marvin Kaye's The Creative Magician's Handbook, originally published as The Stein and Day Handbook of Magic.
* And now my third book is Robert Neale's Tricks of the Imagination.

If you are psychic, you can try to predict what my fourth magic book will be.

(Actually, my opinion is that three books stuffed full of tricks is enough for now, and my next order should be something other than a book. Like a performance video, perhaps, or the spongeball toolbox, maybe. I have no idea what my fourth magic book will be, or when.)

Note:This thread may be hijacked by anyone who wishes to announce how excited they are by the arrival of a new printed work, or who wishes to brag about the size of their library. I did a cursory search for an existing thread along those lines, but nothing really seemed to fit. At least not in the first page of results.

If I were to pretend to have psychic abilities, I'd say you're next book purchase will be: The Amateur Magician's Handbook by Henry Hay.

Great!. Well, before hijacking, I will guess Mark Wilson's or Tarbell's magic course.

Well, I have a vintage 4th edition copy of David Abbott's Behind the Scenes as well as Teller's newer House of Mystery edition (Miracle factory).

Along with that, I recently won a bid for a first edition, numbered 262 copy of David P Abbott's Book of Mysteries, which will be my prized and treasured possession for years to come. (There are only a thousand copies in existence and they have been going for several hundred dollars a copy, I got mine for under a hundred dollars.

The Tarbell Course is also in my library, though only a few volumes have been read. Jermay, Knepper, and Darwin Ortiz books are also scattered around my room. Banachek's PS2 and Psychophysiological Thought Reading are hanging around my bed. There are a bunch more (Pretty much all of my christmas, birthday, and allowance money has gone into my magic library for the last 2 years) but I can't remember them off of the top of my head.

Currently Reading "House of Mystery" (Abbott, Teller), Tarbell, Everything I can on busking
