Need help deciding on a trick

Postby deanos123 » Feb 10th, '08, 20:09

Ok if you could only buy one of the following tricks, which one would it be?

Monkey in the middle by Bill Goldman

Blizzard by Dean Dill

Eight Ball by Emerson & West

I can only find a review for BLIZZARD on this site and i know how it works, i have a nudist deck on the way and i think i will probably be able to do this trick with that (adding a few props).

i have seen a video of monkey in the middle and it has baffled me, i watched it over and over, it says there are no slieghts, but i can't believe that so i am weighing toward this trick just for the sheer fact it looks good.

I haven't seen a review or a video for 8 ball by emerson and west, but it sounds similar to colour monte but with 5 cards instead of 3. and i like monte's! so if anyone has this i would like to hear of a review.

Cheers

I like Monkey in the Middle. It says no sleights and to a point that is true. It takes a little getting used to if your not used to this type of gimmick but you can do it without a problem I am sure. It is a great effect.

8 Ball by Emerson and West is not 3 card monte. It is more like a wild card effect. A bunch of blank cards and one with an 8 ball on it. One by one all the cards end up with 8 Balls on them I forget the routine because I've made some serious changes along the way. But that is the basic effect and basic to many versions of Wild Card.

Blizzard was all the rage not overly long ago frankly didn't do much for me my focus was elswhere when that hit the market so there are others here who can give you better advice on that.

Long and short. Monkey in the Middle is my choice, but it is just one trick but it is a solid effect.

8 ball you will actually have to learn something and with a little research and imagination you can easily apply the principals to other routines. In fact I think there is a book on wild card floating around out there somewhere.
