OK, so its 00:15am and Ive just got back from Paris on a school trip.

I went for 4 days and come back to find my inbox full of junk, chain letters and reply notifications for this forum.

One question, why do i never get so many when im here!?

Just wondering how many emails normal people get a day? roughly? Is this normal? or is it just because I went away, so the junk mail faries realise i havent been using it, so decide to give me something to sort through when i get back?

Two questions: what email service do you use, and how much c*** (not the best) do you sign up for?!

I have two email accounts, my old hotmail one which gets loads of junk - so I use that to sign up for anything that I even remotely suspect will end up sending me junk or passing on my address.

And my new(ish) googlemail one, which I only give to people I know and respectable organisations.

Although, even my "cr@p account" doesn't get 217 in four days...!

Its my hotmail account, but ive never got this much before, im lucky if after 1 day i get 4 emails, 2 of which at least will be from TM.

I dont sign up for anything - I dont think I did anyway

with hotmail you can set it so that email from anybody not in your contacts list automatically goes in your junk mail I did this because I was getting a lot of unsolicited email but I do check it quite a bit incase I miss something I was waiting for

I was part of the old 'intellinet' before the internet really took off, and I managed to get one of the first Hotmail addresses.
Unfortunately for me I chose something very easy to anticipate and consequently got flooded with spam. 2000 in a week was not uncommon.

I haven't checked it for nearly ten years. Maybe I should for a laugh.

I agree with Farlsborough here - I have a sacrificial email adress that I use for all sorts of c*** (not the best).
