Transparent/'Invisible' Plastic Cards - Any Decent Ones?

Postby dgmagic » Feb 14th, '08, 23:27

Hi All,

Recently bought some transparent/'invisible' plastic playing cards.

Didn't take them too seriously and thought they would be quite robust and novel to show a few tricks to the lads when out camping.

Was pleasantly surprised at how much I like the feel of them and their slippiness!

However, there is one down side...the design of the back and front pattern is quite simply awful!

Anyone know of any decently designed and good to use transparent/'invisible ' plastic playing cards out there?

Thanks All,

Tomdom.

I have only ever used Bicycle plastics. They have their good points - you can drop them in beer and they last for, well, ever. At least until the earth cools, which is as long as it takes for the PVC to break down.

On the other hand when the novelty of the 'feel' wears off I prefer to use normal plastic coated Bikes. There are certain things i simply cannot do with the plastic ones. A good fan for a start.

Secondly the environments in which I would use beer-proof cards (ie the pub) are ones in which I would also be drunk. This means that certain moves are more likely to flash, and with transparent cards you have to be pretty spot on. Especially with doubles of any kind.

Anyway back to the question... No I have only used Bike plastics and yes, the design is awful.
The only other plastic cards |I have seen in Newcastle are the fashionable (and expensive) Texas Hold 'em variety. They do look nice though!

Have found some others I may try!
