What type of raven

Postby dc2222 » Feb 27th, '08, 21:20

(sorry if in wrong forum area)
i have read lots of reviews and opinions and I still can't work out to get the normal raven or the reel raven. If this helps, I perform to classmates who are sceptical and useually, everything is silent.
Thanks guys

Want a Raven? Buy mine.
Or buy one off many of the other mages round here who bought one, used it for a week then dropped it in the magic drawer never to be used again.
You can have mine for the price of Bobo's Coin Magic, but seriously I would suggest that you get Bobo's Coin Magic instead of a single trick which can't easily be repeated, is a pain in the *rse to reset and really wont be used much in your repetoire apart for the first week you get it out of it's box.

thanks for the tip. The main reason why i want a Raven or similar trick is to quickly do coin dissappearing trick for factory sealed (coin into bottle). Or to just do it impromtu.

If you're just looking for a quick coin vanish, then pick up BOBO's book. All you need is the C****** P*** to be able to quickly vanish a coin.

That's the beauty of Bobo's Modern Coin Magic.

There's a whole chapter dedicated to coin vanishes in there. PLus all the other chapters of essential coin sleights, over 100 tricks etc, all for a tenner.

Even better for £7!

Like Mr Zero said (good to see you back by the way Ecko, long time no see) you're much better off getting Bobo and learning any of the complete vanishes in there. Once you've done that you've got the rest of the several hundred tricks to get your teeth into. It may seem like a bunch of annoying old kill joys telling you not to buy a Raven in a rather patronising way but believe me, when you get one (which you almost certainly will) you'll go "Oh." Then you'll play with it for a short period of time, maybe trundle it into school for a few days. You'll get great responses but then after the initial shine of those responses wears off you'll come to hate the effort of resetting the thing and the annoying limitations of the performing conditions.

This process has happened to nearly everyone who ever bought a Raven, personally I think it's a wonderful device for a pretty specific use but I never use mine either.

The boys are right, I'd save my money if I was you.

I bought one too, the really frustating thing for me was that when I got it I realised that it was exactly the same as a little device I'd already made myself a few weeks before.

It'll be fun for the first few performances but you'll soon get fed up with the hassle of it.

Spend the money on Bobo, you'll get much more use out of it.
