I don't have any £5 on me but going through my foreign currency jar, £10 and Japanese ¥1000 (~£8) are VERY close. Height appears to be exact but the yen is a couple of millimetres wider.

Nice contrast to the £10! Though obviously that doubles your budget for the affect.

Someone could make a bob or two selling pre-setup versions (to people who could prove they had the product, of course).

Maybe changing magazine cuttings into fivers.

I got extreme burn yesterday and did roll my eyes and think "here we go" when i was watching how to make it, gonna try to make it today, just going down morrisons to get some lottery tickets

One of the joys about being a real magician is that occasionally you HAVE TO MAKE SOMETHING!

Take your time and just concentrate. If necessary then make up a trial version using spare materials. You'll get better and better at it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I guess i was really hoping for something that is very cheap really..some east European currency that 1000 is equivalent to about 30 pence!!

As it stands my gimmick plus notes totals £20 so if i were to use the Japanese notes it would be another £30 or so so ends up being pricey. I could use dollar bills but I like to use UK currency as i think it looks more " real" than using all foreign currency

Why do you always see people changing lottery tickets into £20's ? Ive just gone and got some lottery tickets and there massive compared to £20's ! I suppose nobody notices that theyve been cut shorter and thinner lol

I have a different version to this trick and sometimes use £20 notes, try getting 2 x lucky dips with the Euromillions, although at £4 x 5 you do have a £20 outlay all of a sudden!

Alright mate, Im being cheap and using the lottery tickets you write your numbers on not the actual print outs lol

A mate of mine (magician) uses paper and makes them out to be fivers...then turns them into real £5 notes, that might work, at least you know the exact size

Yeah i was thinking of just cutting white paper to size because you always see people (dynamo) using lottery tickets to change.

Sounds good bro. Yeah i know, One idea i had was having plain paper and complaining about having nothing to read then turning it into magazine clippings lol. Gonna use money first though

I have two questions about Extreme Burn as I'm considering a purchase.

a) Is the gimmick sturdy?
b) if you somehow managed to break the gimmick, could it be remade with raw materials or is the gimmick unique in its construction?

When I've made this up I've used magazine cuttings but they need to be thin enough and resistant enough if a) you want it to work and b) if you want it to last. I used loads of different ones and strangly the best one I found was actually Magic Magazine!

As for using paper this will be great but it'll wear down a lot quicker than a magazine cover and white will get dirty quickly with use as well
