Hi there, everyone.

I just signed up to the forum today after lurking for a short while. It seems like a friendly place full of mature, helpful people (unlike some other magic forums I've been around!) so I hope you don't mind if I jump right in.

I don't know why I chose my username, other than it's my favourite card. My real name is Katheryn (or Kate, if you like).

I'm 24 years old and I've been practicing card magic for about 18 months. I do a lot of practice so I'd consider myself an amateur hobbyist rather than a beginner, and I concentrate solely on card magic. I have a lot of respect for people who do cup-and-ball stuff, ring stuff, coin stuff, etc. but personally I'm only interested in learning cards - I absolutely love 'em!

I also play a lot of poker in my spare time.

So, yea, that's about it. Hello everyone!!!!

Haha, I meant as opposed to the forums filled with 12-year-olds and adults with the minds of 12-year-olds. One comes to mind that begins with an "E" and ends with a "llusionist"...

Hi Kate,

Welcome to this forum. I'm very new here myself and am considering going right back to the beginning of card magic myself... I was always more interested in card manipulation more than 'card tricks' but I'm about ready to dust off my copy of 'Royal Road to Card magic' and revise the basics..

Hope you enjoy your time here at Talk Magic.

Sheridan :)

Quite right too old girl, 12 is far too mature for a decent conversation.

Welcome aboard, mind the gap and don't slip on the banana skin.

Greetings and welcome to TM.

I'm a fan of card magic, as well as poker. Perhaps we can talk shop sometime.

Enjoy your time here - plenty to see!
