We attended the Blackpool convetion this year for the first time and thought it was great.

Although after seeing Scott & Muriel, I was sorry I left my crossbow in my other handbag!

Anyway, I have already sent our appilication form off for next year's tickets and have had an offer to stay at the Ruskin.

Seeing that a lot of you guys have stayed there, any opinions????.

I don't want to feel like a gatecrasher at the Derek Lever / Blackpool magicians club posse.

The Ruskin is usually fully booked from year to year so if you have an offer to stay there it's quite an achievement! I have the impression that most of us stayed at various other hotels and there are quite a few to choose from. For me the key feature was how close to the Winter Gardens, value for money in terms of accomodation and breakfast offered and then how close to the Ruskin. I'm happy to drunkenly stagger/crawl for up to 500 yards but that's about it!

I booked with the Ruskin this evening and they have 10 rooms left at the moment.

Hopefully we shall get to meet other magic (nutters) I mean fans, and maybe organise a sponsored stagger!

It's obviously speculation at the moment, but who do you think will be / who do you want to be lecturing / appearing (pun intended) at Blackpool 2009?
