FREE BEER!!!

Postby Miss.Demeanour » Mar 4th, '08, 00:02

Sorry that was a cheap shot I know

But everyone writes "hi" or "hello Everyone" and I thought you guys may get bored of that so ............Beer was the best I could think of!

My name is Melanie and I LOVE magic! I do the odd trick myself but, I have stoopid little hands and a brain that is usually distracted by buying shoes, so I will probably never achieve what I would like to!

My favourites are; Lennart Green, Richard Turner, David Stone and Bill Malone.

I will come clean and admit, my husband is the magician of 30years+ and is very good at close-up (though don't tell him I told you that), but after having tricks / moves tested out on your eyes each week, you become a bit obsessed

We just enjoyed a fab weekend at Blackpool and it was great to see so many people meeting up and sharing tricks, having a drink and bouncing ideas off eachother.
I just wish the event lasted longer and, in my opinion, was better publicised to get more people interested and enjoy it.

Looking forward to next year!

Nice to meet you all.

Yes, I'm definitely the sort of person who is most socially comfortable when there's a good mixture of men and women about. Some people enjoy exclusive-gender social groups, but in my opinion they're mad. Really, a shortage of women is a lot like a shortage of oxygen. Kinda stuffy.

However, I don't like beer. Do you have any alternatives?

Nowt like a mojito... I enjoyed several fresh ones on my first day in Cuba. During the hazy refreshing period that ensued, the waiter told me the Hemmingway story, and yet it's all a total blur. Jetlag+Rum=amnesia.

Welcome to TM.

Welcome chica

Postby Amanda Angeli » Mar 4th, '08, 15:47

Hello Melanie,

Welcome, chica. Hey, I'll have a beer with you. And, while sipping our brews, we can talk about the newest rage in magic, Shoe Magic. I'm sure it's a branch of magic about ready to explode upon the scene. You know, floating shoes, color changing shoes, sawing a flip flop in half, that sort of thing.

Love,

Amanda Angeli

I've never had a pina colada . . . so I'm willing to give it a go - thanks. 8)

When I eat out in public, the drink I usually order is a rum and coke. When I visit my parents, the most frequently-consumed alcoholic drink is a cider. It's convenient to have a standard or two (saves agonising over decisions) but it's also nice to have some variety. For example a wine here, a brandy and lemonade there.

Years ago (when I was not far over the legal drinking age) my parents went on holiday one week and I was left to entertain myself by inventing a cocktail each night. The one I remember contained whisky, sarsaparilla and lemon juice.

(Bobby_cat: I don't like cricket, either.)

Does your multiplying shoe trick involve sneeking them into the house in small batches and then telling your hubby "Oh those old things, I'v had them for ages, just never worn them"! :D

P.S For those who are not keen on beer, my favourites are Red wine and Irish Whiskey (NOT TOGETHER - OF COURSE!)

Hi and welcome to TM.

Beer will do fine for me as much as red wine - I'm not fussy

Oh dear, this bar tab is going to cost me.

Perhaps I should'nt have suggested free drinks!
Mandrake has already penciled in a sponsored stagger at the Ruskin next year!

I think I had better get practicing with my cards to try and earn a few pennies!
