Hey :)
My name’s Vania, I’m 19, I’m from Indonesia and I simply love magic.

I’ve watch this magic show on TV when I was like 6/7 and I was mesmerized by the performance of Lance Burton. He does a lot of trick in his show but, the trick fascinates me the most is card production where he just grasps and produce card from thin air. The trick seems simple but I can’t get enough of it.
Ever since then, I’ve been curious about magic and kinda wishing I could do magic. It’s more like a dream than obsession and I keep it that way until a year ago.

It’s after watching the movie ‘The Prestige’ and ‘The Illusionist’ that I start learning and practicing card magic and flourish. I mainly concentrate on card magic especially non-gimmicked because I think it’s really cool to be able to amaze people using just an ordinary card deck which is proven to be quite difficult for my small hands. Some tricks require bigger hand so sometimes I modified it a little.
Don’t get me wrong, I also admire and respect other magicians with their own magic and style but personally, I just love cards. Sometimes I also do a little coin stuff for a change.
I consider myself as an amateur hobbyist because I’m still learning and so far, I only perform for my friends and family.

So, that’s all about me
Hoping some great time here
Cheers! :D

Hello and welcome!

It's nice to have another nationality represented, and a fellow resident of the Southern Hemisphere, too! I've been to Indonesia, but I was almost six years old back then and you hadn't been born yet. It was 1983, and my family stayed in Indonesia for about a fortnight on our way back to Australia after having spent the last four years in Scotland. I don't remember very much of it.

You can have a lot of fun with cards, and when you've finished doing magic you can use them to play a game. Very versatile.

Hello Vania.

I'm from Malaysia actually, just that I'm studying in the UK. Good to have you here.

Nice to meet you!

P.S. I think there's a young but up and coming magician from Indonesia named Harapan? Not too sure bout that, but you can try searching, he entered the magic competition in Malaysia quite recently.
