Hi there folks.......

As some of you may be aware of I had a gig at a nightclub last weekend!

The issues I found were obviously the noise of the music, although this wasnt to much of a hinderance it was a pain having to explain stuff at the top of my voice.....

What Im looking for, for my next appearance at the club in 2 weeks is some new material that highly visual and doesnt need much speech!

A small list of your favs would be great please...

Thanks peeps x

(not dlites as I use these already)

The following are the effects I tend to do in loud enviroments where patter must be kept to a minimum.

Ninja rings
Fibre Optics rope routine
fork bending
Slydini silks
crazymans handcuffs
3 fly III
spongeball routine
Raven coin vanish off the specs hand

sponge balls or silks can work brilliantly in a noisy environment

Just as a thought, have you thought of painting your coins with UV paint for in the clubs???

Would look great with a muscle pass, but youd have to make sure any coin sleights are rock solid, because a flash with a UV coin would be quite visual

I've done this befor and it does not work well. I got some ghosts cards purely because I thought it'd make for some good tricks in the clubs I was working at, it did, in a flourishy kind of way; So I thought I'd try it with some coins too and UV'd up some poker chips. note: you cannot hide in a palm a coin that is glowing! similar principal applies to backpalming a UV reactive card, we had a good laugh about it at the time but it does limit what you can do (or at least it does for me, how am i supposed to do ANY coin work when I can't palm the thing? Gah!)

But if you're just going to do some (non palming) flourishy stuff then getting some UV reactive cards/paint could be a very good idea.

I like the rope idea...I take it these are UV ropes? I saw Craig Petty doing some stuff at the NEC with ropes, was nice.....

I like stuff that doesnt look like your using odd props....so although Ive got linking rings I wouldnt use because the average Joes doesnt carry around huge rings in their pockets.........although a sudden thought! Linking Chav gurls hoop earrings would be a laugh lol, Im so copyrighting that "Chav Hoops" lol

Ha! "Chav Hoops" great idea!!!!

I know Jay Sankey has a version of the linking rings that is done with key chain rings, I can't remember what they are called but it moves away from the "why are you carrying those giant rings" question, but then again how many 'normal' people usually have a deck of bikes or some rope on them?

Now ropes, there's a brilliant idea. I'd imagine that white ropes would glow beautifully in a club. I might even try that out myself this weekend.
