Can't remember the name of the mage (Maybe Greg Wilson?) but his impromptu sponge napkin routine when done with actual sponges is a killer.
Failing that, Design For Laughter was my signature trick for a looooooooong time and GhostVision always put a few backs up
After all these years, I'm still getting great reactions to Dean Dill's Blizzard. In ten-odd years of performing this, I can remember being caught doing the "move" twice.
Nowadays probably Crazy Man's Handcuffs. But the only time I can remember seeing a spectator's jaw literally drop was many years ago when I separated a pair of Chinese Sticks (Tenyo - very noisy!) and they still worked.......
My best reaction is was when I performed the "Kings levitations" for a friend.
He got so freaky, I never EVER got that like reactions for magic tricks, like that time.
My wife is my greatest and frankly, my worst critic.
I can spend hours, days, weeks trying to perfect a new little miracle and when I think I've finally got it right she most often says "Hmm...that's nice dear...." and goes to make a cup of tea or goes back to watching Doctor Who.
I know a trick is going to get a good reaction in public if she simply stares and me and says those three magic words which lift my heart and remind me that maybe, just maybe this little "hobby" is worthwhile after all...
"......
.....
Do that again..."
You can keep your wide eyed stares and whoops of joy from gullible Joe public. If my wife utters those three words in her matter of fact tone, that's the only reaction that counts...
I think at the moment there isnt much to beat trilogy with bikes. I have performed this numerous times and always get such strong reactions. I like it that much I may even get the streamline version, if you want something which totally baffles people go for trilogy.
