My readings consitantly get the best reactions, apart from that one ahead is great if you stage it correctly. My single greatest reaction and one that will stay with me forever was from a centre tear. Glass moving is always very strong, especially with the "true believers".

I can't stand polite applause and the "yes, very clever" type reaction. Give me tears, screams, and life changing moments or give me death!

Coinvexed is doing alright, as is my invisible decl routines.
Contact Juggling always gets some good reactions.

As does having 4 pints and doing my nine-of-clubs trick (for anyone who's met me, you know what I mean, I actually managed to drink a whole pint during the course of this trick last night, did someday say time lapse?)

I'm guessing, unless someone has recently designed a new effect called "designed for laughter", he is talking about the trick from the royal road to card magic. It's in the section on the gl***.

EDIT:

Just to answer the question which this thread is about; I get good reactions from a lot of tricks I do, although I don't perform very often, and when I do it is only to friends at school. Designed for laughter is a good trick though! I also get good reactions from a simple sandwich trick (I haven't been doing for magic for too long and I'm currently only performing tricks I know very well). :D

Second Edit...
I just realised that you posted this thread to start with... :? I feel slightly stupid now.

You can find "Design for laughter" in the Book/DVD "Royal Road To Card Magic".

Actually the same trick, but in my eyes a better handling is, "That's it". You can find it on the Michael Ammar Series "Easy to master card miracles Vol. 2".

I do this trick a lot, and it always gets great reactions.

Cheers

Quantum Leap gets great reactions for me, also simple sponge ball stuff in the specs hands gets more squeals of delight than the sleight-laden, laboured over stuff!
Coin Unique is a gimmick which gets a huge response, particularly when under a glass.

Some levitation stuff with Loops get an amazed and slightly frightened response at times too!

my 3 way design dupe has been going well, a drawing is done, rolled up inside one of two tubes, i tell them which tube they put it in, and then what they've drawn...i've tightened it up quite alot since i showed it to anyone though - so i need more roadtesting...

the strongest? consitantly? putting a piece on paper on someone's hand, they name a long lost friends name or initials...we open the paper and it is the same name...

I've only recently got Trilogy from Alakazam (at Blackpool) but so far the reactions have been amazing. Well worth the money and highly recommended.

Used an invisible fan to end a card trick and saw the specs eyes trying to climb out from his face.
That made me feel warm inside!

OOTW always gets the best reactions with cards.

Sponge ball to spec's hand also never fails to silence people after all the laughter of me talking about my magic balls.

Its also very bitter sweet that these are probably two of my easiest effects compared to the hours spent on others. Yet they never fail to impress.

Can anybody please help me? I'm having terrible problems controlling my streetmagic- I can't walk down a street without turning into a pub.
