Hi folks,

I have just joined. (Mike Danata put me on to you, so thanks Mike) I am a university lexcturer by trade and have been interested in magic since a child. I have only got into pro magic in the last 10 years or so. My main interest is cards, particularly packet tricks and the work of Bro. John Hamman, amongst other classic stuff. ('The magic cards' and 'twins' are two of my favourites) Perhaps my all time favourite currently is actually 'Queens out of control', by Jerry Griffin, which essentially taught me how to do an Elmsley count as the trick contains plenty. (Thanks again Mike for reccommending it!)

Best wishes,

TrevK

Hi to you to. I wonder if you can answer a query, seeing as you are a full member. How do you become one? (A full member, that is!)

Hi Trev, don't worry about that, they are just the rank names on the forum. They change as your post count goes up. It means nothing.

Welcome to TM and its nice to see that you give credit to a very talanted magician, Gerry Griffin. I have known Gerry since he was 16 and have seen him grow in magic. He has owned and operated a magic shop for over twenty years and has a magic dinner theatre. Magic Makers put him on some videos and unfortunately they did not do him justice. I'm glad you learned the EC because it opens the door to some realistic looking magic. There is much you can learn from Gerry despite Magic Makers. check out his magic shop online California Magic and Novelty. Keep posting and one day you will have an elite standing under your name.

Hi Trevor and welcome to TM.

Queens out of Control is a marvelous routine for learning the Elmsley and Mike was also the one who recommended it to me a number of years ago.

Nice to have you here and enjoy your time on TM
