Strong coin effect?

Postby taffy » Apr 3rd, '08, 22:06

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a really strong and visual coin effect for a close up/table hopping routine (excluding coinvexed)
I know there are loads out there, but thought i'd ask the guys with experience!
I'm really looking to fry specs minds with this!

Any advice or suggestions ?

Use the Raven. It requires a little set up, but it's got great results.

mark ledveridge does a nice coin set with okito box, a tad expensive at £50 but has sevaral tricks that are great, especialy the okito sub trunk effect which you carry around in the box and the whole routine resets itself as it goes along great for table hopping.
the colour prediction trick is also easy and has a lot of scope for diferent situations.

I like to do a coin under watch thing. You do a few vanishes etc then on the final one you show that it is definately and undisputably gone (I use revolution), then you reveal that it's under their watch. Don't go straight for the under the watch, it's best to leave it a bit and 'play' with the coin before hand to enforce the idea that you are doing something with it and also to produce some time misdirection before the final stunning teleportation.

Brilliant effect and only a few moves needed.

I do quite a nice little coins across routine that finishes with a 2 in the hand 1 in the pocket.

No one said said coinvexed because taffy excluded it in his original question

For table hopping you can't go wrong with the 11p trick (aka the pot of jam routine) from James Brown's Fancy a Pot of Jam? dvd. Otherwise apart from what's been mentioned already any sort of transpo in their hands works pretty well (pm me for my routine if you like) or coins across routines again especially if you can include the spectator. My personal favourites are Sankey's Mr Clean Coins Across or PDQ 2 from the second volume of Art of Astonishment.

I also forgot to mention the coin matrix. It's a great little trick that dazzles audiences.

I would say Chinese bit or Coin unique. If you prefer slights, coins across or a routine using the muscle pass.
