Invented card routine! (based on an existing one)

Postby magic_panther » Dec 28th, '03, 15:06

Last night I was playing with some cards and came up with a trick..

Effect:
The top card from a deck is removed and placed anywhere face down, into a face up deck with it being look at. The deck is spread face down to reveal the card inserted face up (nothing unusual there! heh) the two cards either side are remove, and they are two of a kind (like to 4s). "it might be a coincidence" you say. But the card always seperates a two of a kind. you do the trick again. and there it is! the face up card between two of kind! "No coincidence, they think after seeing this! it must be magic"

PM me and I will explain routine (if thats allowed!)

(ps. you need a double back and a thick double back)

Thanks for the posting re your routine - I don't know if this already exists or not but, if you'd like to PM details I can at least post them for you in the Routines section so the other mods/admin can check it out away from the public area and advise. If it already exists I'm sure one of the other guys will know but, as we have regular visits from professionals I guess they'd be able to tell if it was an oldie or a newie!

:)

I have this in Nicholas Einhorns The practical Encyclopedia of Magic.
It is called trapped and gives the same result though it must be a different method as it uses no gimmicks.

"The two red queens are placed to one side. A card is chosen and returned to the deck, which is then shuffled. The queens are cut face up into the middle of teh face down deck. In an instant (must be magic!) the cards are spread on the table to reveal one card trapped between them. It is the chosen card."
Taken from the description, as you can see not the same as your routine though and only uses a dbl lft and a break.
This book is a fiver from the works bookshop.

Hope that helps and keep inventing :) Good stuff.

the method used here is totally different and is repeated so it has one advantage over the one in the book
