Howdy guys! This is Cory from Texas. I used to do magic a lot and just starting to get back into it! I purchased Factory Sealed from ellusionist and I'm looking for about 5 other tricks to add to my "collection" if anyone has any tips. Guess I'll get started reading either way.

Hi Cory - welcome to TM

Good advice from Stephen bet even nore important if you want to be taken seriously, make sure that the next four tricks that you buy are NOT fro the Ellusionist catalogue.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Howdy back at ya!

Welcome to TM, as Stephen has said, you're so much better off getting a decent book than one off tricks. Mark Wilson's Complete Course is another great one and will teach you quite a few different areas of magic.

Have fun :D

Hi there mate,

Welcome to TM!

Take Stephens and Lady of Mystery's advice, and buy RRTCM or Mark Wilsons course, theres much to learn in there as opposed to one off effects, andyou'll be a better magician for it too!

Also dat8962 makes a VERY good point too! :D

take it easy

It is always tempting to take the 'easy route' and buy a bunch of tricks but think of the advantage of a good book. If i wanted to i could entertain a table using just a deck of regular cards and no gimmicks. This is the real advantage of a book, i can pass the cards out for examination or even borrow a deck.
