My DVD Intro!

Postby MagicBill » May 11th, '08, 04:25

I had my first DVD filmed and put together about 5 years ago - the link below will take you to the intro. Whilst I am sure you'll all be mildly impressed please refrain from being too critical - I would do SO much differently now! Thanks. :)

Nicely put together video there Billy, but what was up with the Bicycle seconds box? Comes across a bit unproffesional, but other than that it was great.

I love the card dissapearing reapearing backhand thingy, well pulled off!

for the love of god lose the omen music!

a couple of the shots you couldnt quite see what you were doing...but apart from that, a nice taster of things...

but definately lose the music - it just doesnt fit with what you're displaying and showing...if you were a bizarre magician maybe...

but maybe something a little lighter or a decent acoustic piece.... :)

I liked it, but you can definitely tell it was done 5 years ago, hehe!

Your card stuff is excellent!

As for the Bicycle Seconds looking unprofessional - I don't agree at all. I hear Bill Malone always orders seconds, and that's endorsement enough for me. ;)

I always use seconds, there excactly the same, but when I perform, I stick them in an ordinary Bike box. Not only does it look unproffesional, but to a laymen it could look suspicious if they are already familiar with the standard bicycle box design.

I use bike seconds too, to be honest I've had normal bikes that are wonkier than some of the seconds I've bought! But I put them in a normal pack.

Anyhoo...

Yeah, it's good! (I don't think you can complain about the criticism as we've pretty much given you rave reviews on your other vids, so take it like a man :D )

I agree with them about the music, but otherwise it's good stuff. I'm glad you got a shot of your face in there at the end... too many "promo" videos people put up on YouTube are just their hands. If I was to hire them, I'd have no idea whether I would be getting a punk rocker or a bald midget (nothing against bald midgets...), and especially as you're a friendly looking guy, you might as well let them know what to expect from you appearance-wise.

Couple of things I might consider swapping - the main one being the 3 card monte thingy - I had to watch that a second time to work out what the effect actually was.

But generally, nicely done :)

Lose the music :D , that was good. Listen to the music right after you lay down the two of clubs it sounds like they say seduce the moose  Very nice montage.

Barton: Have you read the Bible, Pete?
Pete: Holy Bible?
Barton: Yeah.
Pete: Yeah, I think so. Anyway, I've heard about it.
