If you're still struggling with the last stage, then it might be helpful just to practise curling the tip of your middle finger in to get at the top card. If you pull upwards slightly with the pad of the middle finger roughly where the card's index would be, then the card should come out far enough (just a few milimetres) for your index finger to come into contact with the face and pinch the card, enabling you to reveal it.
Apologies if the above description isn't very useful. Or if it's what the updated Dan and Dave clip teaches - I can't quite remember if they go into that much detail.
This is my first post, too, so if anyone thinks it constitutes exposure then do let me know. I'd think that it's sufficiently vague to be incomprehensible to people who haven't already got 'The Trilogy'. But if I'm wrong then I don't want to get off to a bad start.
You might want to check the Dan and Dave forum and ask for advice there.
