Multple Shift

Postby thebigcheese » May 29th, '08, 21:13

Does anybody have any experience with this move? Before I broke my finger :x ; I was devising a 3 card to 3 impossible locations trick using this move. Ive not seen the move used in either books or DVD's and wondered if there was some sort of flaw in the sleight. The initial working of the trick passed the "missus" test, but got no further due to injury(still taking sympathy!).
Can anyone shed any light on this move?
Cheers,
Dave

Are you talking about Dai Vernon's multiple shift - 4 cards (usually) poked into the pack, pushed in and cut? I think that this is a lovely move.

Its the one by Carmen Di'Amico...Essentially its the same move except you let the cards drop rather than push them into the deck...I think its quite overlooked!

You may consider looking at the Neal Elias (may be wrong spelling) multiple shift. I used to use both the Vernon and Di Amico shift but as soon as I learnt this one it went straight to the top of my list!

Depending on the type of effect you are creating you may wish to look at Vernon's Substutute Transfer move as well. It compliments a multiple shift well if you are looking to get a routine similar to Derren Browns '3 Card Trick' or an ACR together (i.e. several effects in one and then the impossible locations at the end).
